Refund & Cancellation Policy
Version 2.0 · Last updated 14 October 2026 · Effective from the date of publication on aikaya.net
Aikaya is operated by Tenchi DWC-LLC. Payments on Aikaya are processed by Stripe.
Part 1 — classes, courses and memberships. These are sold by the Creator named on the product page, at checkout and on your receipt. The Creator is the seller and merchant of record, and she alone refunds what she sells, from her own Stripe account. Each Creator publishes her own Refund Policy, linked from her storefront and at checkout.
Part 2 — Aikaya Plans and Extra Traffic. For these, Aikaya is the seller, and Aikaya refunds them.
Nothing in this Policy limits your statutory rights.
Part 1 — Purchases from Creators
1.1 Who refunds
The Creator who sold the Product is the seller and the merchant of record, and the only party who refunds it. Refunds are paid from the Creator's Stripe account to your original payment method. Aikaya does not sell Products, does not receive your payment, and does not issue refunds for Products.
1.2 Right of withdrawal
Classes, courses and memberships are digital content supplied immediately. At checkout you ask for immediate access and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal once supply begins; your confirmation e-mail records this. After that, there is no refund for a change of mind unless the Creator offers one (1.6) — but see 1.3 to 1.5.
1.3 Faulty or not as described
If a Product does not match its description, does not play, or is materially incomplete, you are entitled to have it fixed; if that is not possible or not done within a reasonable time, to a price reduction or a full refund. Tell the Creator within a reasonable time after you notice the problem, and tell us at support@aikaya.net if the problem is with the Platform (for example, playback).
1.4 Memberships
You can cancel any time from your account (Account → Memberships). Your membership stays active to the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew. Part-used periods are not refunded, except under 1.3, 1.5 or 1.6 or where the law requires.
1.4a When a payment is refunded or reversed
A refund ends your access to the Product it paid for (for a membership, to the period it paid for). If you dispute a payment with your bank, access to the Product may be suspended while the dispute is reviewed, and ended if the dispute is found to be abusive.
1.5 If Aikaya removes content you bought
Aikaya may remove or disable Content that is illegal or breaches its policies. If that affects something you bought, your claim for a refund is against the Creator, as seller. Your statutory rights against her apply, and so does any restore-or-refund commitment she set for that Product and showed you before you paid. Aikaya tells you, on request, why the Content was removed and how to contact the Creator. Stripe, as the Creator's payment provider, may also act on the Creator's account under its own terms; Aikaya does not control that.
1.6 The Creator's own refund policy
A Creator may offer a refund window or another more generous promise. Where she does, it is shown on the product page and in her Refund Policy, it is her promise, and Aikaya will help you use it.
1.7 How to ask
Write to the Creator through her storefront or the contact details on your receipt. If you cannot reach her, or your complaint is about the Platform rather than the Product, write to support@aikaya.net; we confirm receipt without delay, reply within 15 days, and pass Product claims to the Creator. Refunds usually reach your account within 5–10 business days of being issued.
Please contact the Creator before disputing a charge with your bank. A refund is quicker than a chargeback.
Part 2 — Aikaya Plans and Extra Traffic (for Creators)
Plans and Extra Traffic are sold to you by Aikaya, and payment is processed by Stripe. Refunds are paid by Aikaya to your original payment method.
2.1 14-day money-back guarantee on your first paid Plan
If you buy a paid Plan for the first time, you may cancel within 14 days of purchase and receive a full refund of that first payment, whether you are a Consumer or a business. Use the "Withdraw from contract here" button in Billing or write to support@aikaya.net.
This money-back guarantee is voluntary. It is not available if you made paid sales through the Platform during those 14 days. Any statutory right you have as a Consumer (2.5) is not affected.
2.2 Renewals, upgrades and downgrades
- Plans renew automatically; cancel any time with effect from the end of the current period.
- We do not refund the unused part of a monthly or annual period after the 14 days in 2.1, unless 2.4 or the law provides otherwise.
- Upgrades apply immediately; the unused value of your current period is credited. Downgrades apply from the next period; no credit is given.
2.3 Extra Traffic
Extra Traffic is a one-off purchase of an amount of video delivery, measured in gigabytes (GB), used only to deliver your paid Content beyond your Plan's monthly allowance. It is not money, has no cash value, cannot be transferred and cannot be used for anything else. It does not expire while your account is open, and it is not refundable except as set out below. What applies depends on how you bought it, as declared at purchase:
- as a Business User: a company, sole trader or other business form buying for its trade or business; or
- as a Consumer: a natural person acting outside any trade, business, craft or profession.
| When | Business User | Consumer |
|---|---|---|
| (a) You close your account | No refund. Your remaining GB keep paying for delivery of your Content to your existing Buyers under Terms §C11.1; whatever is left when the last such period ends lapses | Same as Business User |
| (b) Within 14 days of buying | No right of withdrawal | You may withdraw and are refunded the unused gigabytes of that purchase (2.5) |
| (c) We close your account for a material breach of the Terms | Your remaining GB end with the account and are not refunded | We refund the unused gigabytes, less any amount you owe us |
| (d) We end the service for any other reason, including closing the Platform | No refund | We refund the unused gigabytes in full |
The unused value is calculated purchase by purchase, oldest purchase used first: price paid × unused GB ÷ GB bought. Refunds are paid to your original payment method within 14 days of your request, or of the end of the contract where that is later.
Refunds only on request. We pay a refund under this section only when you ask for it. To withdraw under (b), use the "Withdraw from contract here" button in Billing, e-mail us, or use the model form below. In cases (c) and (d), the notice by which we end the contract states your unused gigabytes and how to request the refund.
2.4 If we end the contract
- If we close your account for a material breach of the Terms, prepaid Plan fees are not refunded except where the law requires. For Extra Traffic, see 2.3(c).
- If we end the service for any other reason, we refund the unused part of prepaid Plan fees. For Extra Traffic, see 2.3(d).
2.5 Consumer Creators — statutory withdrawal
If you are a Consumer, you have the statutory right to withdraw from a Plan or Extra Traffic contract within 14 days without giving a reason. If you asked for the service to start straight away, you pay for what was used before you withdrew: for a first Plan, 2.1 refunds the payment in full anyway; for Extra Traffic, you are refunded the unused gigabytes. Withdraw with the "Withdraw from contract here" button in Billing, by e-mail, or with the model form below.
